Caloundra / Maroochy Sewage Effluent Reuse Trial

Did you know that the Caloundra City Council is working towards a recycling of treated sewage effluent back into the town water supply?

This could take the form of pumping treated sewage effluent from the Landsborough Sewage Treatment Plant directly into the Ewan Maddock Dam from which the council could draw some the city's town water supply. The other option being explored is direct pumping of treated sewage effluent into the city's water treatment plant for treatment (chlorination) (see chlorinated and chlorinated 2) and distribution.

If recycling of sewage did take place do you think many local and interstate tourist would knowing stay or visit this part of the Sunshine Coast if they were aware if they were stay long enough they may be able to urinate the same water twice?
