ARE WE ON THE RIGHT TRACK?

Have your say on the proposed Rail Network Strategy for Queensland.

Queensland Transport is seeking public comment on a draft Rail Network Strategy for Queensland, a proposed framework for the continued advancement of the State's rail infrastructure.

The Rail Network Strategy seeks to enhance utilisation of the existing infrastructure, as well as improving facilities and providing the means by which to inform, promote and encourage usage of the rail network.

Role of government

The Strategy facilitates discussion of the role of Government in providing leadership and direction to the State's rail network.

Investment opportunities

While QR will continue to be a fully integrated, publicly owned railway, the Strategy promotes private-sector investment and innovation in rain It also encourages local community participation in identifying potential rail traffic and setting the direction for regional rail corridors.

Rail corridor statements

An important adjunct to the strategy will be the co-operative development of Corridor Directions Statements, to establish a vision for the future usage and development of all rail lines in Queensland.

Now can I find out more and be involved?

The State Government and Queensland Transport are committed to effective public consultation, recognising its importance in planning, policy-making service delivery.
